Knitting Failure

Do you ever start a project and then REALLY not like it? I received this lovely yarn as a gift from my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. The color is gorgeous and the feel of the yarn is wonderful. I think it deserves to be made into something special.

I wanted to make a shawl out of it and found a pattern on Ravelry that I thought would be perfect. I am not a huge fan of garter stitch (when you knit every row) and did not realize from the photo, which was taken at a distance, that the majority of the shawl is garter stitch. I got started and this is the point where I decided that it's time to start over! I am going to pull out the pattern book and create something original. I will share what I end up making with this lovely yarn when it is finished.
