Another 8 Shaft Twill Scarf
Happy Spring!! It's been a busy month and a half over here with a bit of unexpected travel and a lot of work both of which have kept me away from the computer. The good news is that I have plenty of new work to share with you! This is the second 8 shaft scarf that I wove as part of a Christmas commission. I've had an 8 shaft loom for a little over a year and I finally started using all 8 shafts at the end of 2016. The pattern and color combination are great for women or men. The yarn is 18/2 JaggerSpun Zephyr, which is 50% wool and 50% silk. The colorway of the warp is Indigo and the weft is Steel. I found the yarn easy to weave with and the scarf feels incredibly luxurious.
If you are planning to weave this, I threaded the loom exactly as the pattern is written. I included a floating selvedge on each side because I like the evenness that it creates on the edge of scarves. I wet finished with Soak wash and didn't have any color bleeding, but other weavers have informed me that this yarn occasionally runs, so I recommend testing yours out before wet finishing.
