What I Bought at Urban Craft Uprising Summer 2022
Urban Craft Uprising is one of my favorite Seattle area markets. There are a variety of price ranges, but their shows tend to have high quality, mostly affordable handmade items. I am happy to share the items I purchased at the Urban Craft Uprising Summer 2022 Market at Magnuson Park Hanger.
I love supporting small artisans and buying unique items. This market was smaller than past Urban Craft events we’ve attended, which actually made it easier to shop. All of these items make great gifts or wonderful treats for yourself.
Jeanette Zeis Ceramics - When we arrive at craft shows, we usually do a lap to see what we like before committing to purchasing anything. I saw this illustrated mug with an adorable bunny on our first lap and remembered it the whole way, so I was excited to see it still available on our second time around. Jeanette is based in Portland, Oregon and has a variety of fun designs of functional pottery, including fruit baskets, cake and cupcake stands, and paint supplies. I like the paint brush cups that say “not coffee.”
Modern Science Project - I’ve followed Modern Science Project on Instagram for a while and was so delighted to finally see her work in person that we purchased two wiggle mugs. The mug on the left is Snapdragon colorway and the mug on the right is Iridescent colorway.
GlassyRock Arts - This glass suncatcher definitely caught our eye! We love the purple in the agate matched with the green at the bottom and the slight texture in the clear part. Each piece is one of a kind. This was created in the Pacific Northwest outside Seattle. The artist, Noelle, also sells stained glass patterns if you would like to make your own suncatcher.
Collisionware - These super cute pot holders are a fun and affordable gift. Over five years ago, we bought a roller skate pattern (gifted this one to a friend), the llama pattern, and the fox pattern and use them all the time. I love them because they hold up well against hot dishes and have also survived many trips through the washing machine and dryer. We picked up four more when we saw the booth at the market. In addition to pot holders, she has oven mitts, skillet mitts, mini mitts, and sets. These are so cute as housewarming gifts or for anyone one who enjoys cooking or baking.
Sgt. Hart’s Barbeque Sauce - We eat a lot of barbeque chicken and are always looking for new sauces. We tried all of the varieties they had at the market and chose Intensified Chipotle, which starts with a sweetness and ends with a slight burn. They have mild and hotter options as well as reduced sugar options.
La Liath Bakery - This fun cupcake was delicious! We usually shop from La Liath at the Queen Anne Farmers Market and really enjoy her cookies, cakes, and bakery bars. She is regularly at the Shoreline Farmers Market as well. There is an option to order online for pickup, delivery, or shipping, but be sure to read the fine print on her website.
These are my actual purchases that I paid for with my own money. No one offered me anything to write this. I like supporting other crafts people and I find it refreshing to see what products people actually like; not only the ones they receive money for advertising.
